Jump Location

Parent page: Sch Dialogs

Two incarnations of the Jump Location dialog.

Summary

This dialog allows the designer to specify X and Y 'jump' coordinates. While the controls of the dialog remain the same, the actual use of the dialog, and its banner text, will vary depending on the context in which it was accessed - for example to paste an object at a particular location in the workspace, or to move an object, or selection, by a certain amount within the workspace.

Access

The dialog can be accessed and used in both the Schematic Editor and the Schematic Library Editor.

  • Schematic Editor and Schematic Library Editor - the dialog can be accessed in the following ways:
    • For a placed polygon object, access the Vertices tab of the Polygon dialog, and use the Move Polygon By XY command (available from the Menu button or right-click menu). This will give access to the Move Polygon By dialog.
    • For a placed polyline object, access the Vertices tab of the PolyLine dialog, and use the Move Line By XY command (available from the Menu button or right-click menu). This will give access to the Move Line By dialog.
  • Schematic Editor only - the dialog can be accessed in the following ways:
    • Press Tab while pasting a copied object (or selection of objects), to access the Paste To Position dialog.
    • With one or more objects selected in the workspace, use the Tools | Arrange |  » Move Selection by X, Y command from the main menus. This will give access to the Move Selection by X, Y dialog.
    • For a placed wire object, access the Vertices tab of the Wire dialog, and use the Move Wire By XY command (available from the Menu button or right-click menu). This will give access to the Move Wire By dialog.
    • For a placed bus object, access the Vertices tab of the Bus dialog, and use the Move Bus By XY command (available from the Menu button or right-click menu). This will give access to the Move Bus By dialog.
    • For a placed signal harness object, access the Vertices tab of the Signal Harness dialog, and use the Move Signal Harness By XY command (available from the Menu button or right-click menu). This will give access to the Move Signal Harness By dialog.
  • Schematic Library Editor only - the dialog can be accessed in the following ways:
    • With one or more objects selected in the workspace, use the Tools | Components |  » Move Selection by X, Y command from the main menus. This will give access to the Move Selection by X, Y dialog.
