The Edit Favorite dialog.

Summary

Use the Edit Favorite manager to rename a favorited search expression and define which objects pass or do not pass the filter. The terms for the expression can also be edited in this dialog.

Access

From the Favorites tab of the Expression Manager dialog, click Edit.

Options/Controls

Expression

In text box, you can review and/or further edit the search expression. Type directly into the text box to edit the search expression. For more information on writing or editing search queries, visit the Query Helper dialog page.

Highlighting Options

These options allow you to set how objects that have successfully passed through the search filters are visually presented. In order to easily differentiate objects which have successfully passed the filter for your search terms, you can highlight objects by selecting them and/or zooming in on them. Conversely, you can deselect and dim objects that do not meet search requirements. Click the box next to each option to select or deselect it. Selected options have a checkmark in the box ().

Objects Passing the Filter

  • Select - After a search has been run, select any item that successfully passes the filter for your search terms.
  • Zoom - After a search has been run, zoom in on item that successfully passes the filter for your search terms.

Objects Not Passing the Filter

  • Deselect - After a search has been run, deselect any selected items that do not pass the filter for your search terms.
  • Mask out - After a search has been run, make masking available which allows you to dim objects that do not pass the filter for your search terms.
